Nazca Lines

Yesterday I finished Anthony Horowitz's book Evil Star and it mentioned something called the Nazca Lines. They are located in the Nazca Desert in Peru. At first I thought Horowitz was making it up, but then I saw these pictures and I realized they were real. They were created in by the ancient Inca people. What's strange is that these lines are giant in scale and can only be viewed from the air. The Incas had no means to view this from the air and, some of the lines are perfectly straight. No one understands how these lines were made so perfectly, or why they were made at all. Also, some of the animals are deformed, such as the monkey who has four fingers on one hand. To ancient civilizations, natural deformity was a horrible thing and meant evil to them. No one understands why they would perposely deform this animals, but many believe they are warning us about something. If you want more info, do some research and/or read EVIL STAR by ANTHONY HOROWITZ.

Today

Today was an adventurous day filled with adventure. My Social Studies partner (Robert) has been sick all week and our presentation was due Monday. If he doesn't come back soon, I'll have to talk to myself for the presentation. The Auto Club started up again today. We have several new members and we're more likely to do cool stuff this year. For info go to the MOR link. Well, Jason opened up a lemonade stand with his neighbor, and we're working for him. We sell brownies, cookies, fresh lemonade, and whatever else is homemade that people want to buy. Even Bill (the guy building our basement) stopped by for a glass. We split the profits and usually earn about $3 each (there are five of us) for working two hours. We give five dollars daily to Jason's mom for the baking ingredients. Today, the stand fell over, the brownies were brutally murdered by glass, and we owed Jason's mom an additional $10 for the glass tray. So, we only got $0.25 each.
Just a few minutes ago, we were digging out a section of the basement that was neglected by the workers. I was sweating like a sink faucet just by standing in there. When we were finishing up, I saw what I thought to be a cockroach, running around in the shadows. It hopped a little while it ran so, I used a flashlight to see what it was. Guess what, it was the cutest mouse in the world. Even my mom said so. It was grey, about the size of my thumb, and not long at all. That was my day.

P.S. The basement will be done anytime now, so the party will come soon.

Something Horrible

Something horrible has just happened. An airplane from TAM (the largest Brazilian airline) has just crashed into a TAM building and burst into flames. Brazil is my native country, so this is really tragic to me. It happened at Sao Paulo International Airport (I'm from Sao Paulo). This is horrible and Anwaar will probably be saying the same thing tomorrow at school. Well if you want to know what happened, click on one of the links below.

Bus Rant (for real this time)

Last year we had a horrible bus driver who was always doing stupid things. We all hated her. This year, we had a bigger bus with a nicer driver. Yesterday, we found out that she was a sub and we actually have the same bus and driver. Well today, it was a normal day as usual but as soon as we got to our stop, the engine dyed and the bus stopped moving. We could see our house and the doors were all working, but the bus driver wouldn't let us off. Then she called for a mechanic and we had to wait. Half an hour later, the mechanic shows up, messes with some wires, and the engine lives! Then she yells for us to sit down. She moves the bus half an inch forward, then she stops and tells us to get off. STUPIDEST THING EVER! We were already at the stop, and the doors were all working. But for an unexplained and stupid reason, we had to wait half an hour in that yellow furnace so that the bus could be repaired and we could drive HALF AN INCH!

A Weird Dream

We've all had weird or strange dreams, right? Well if anyone cares to read it, I'd like to tell you all about my weird dream. It all started with some kind of school reunion/ party that everyone was going to. It was at one of those party places that you just rent out. We all got in lines infront of the cash register and we were separated into groups of two. I got stuck with Jason Li. Some students who volunteered came around and gave every group a tray. Then they gave an individual pizza to every group. Then another set of volunteers came and gave us a second pizza. The first group came back, took back the second pizza, and said that it was one pizza per group. The same argument was happening about the individual salads. And this argument continued throughout the line. When we finally got to the register, we had one pizza and one salad. Jason bought two chocolate milks and the volunteers brought us another pizza. "What's weird about this?" is what you're probably thinking right now. Well, we're getting there. So Jason and I sit down on a sofa in one of those mini kitchens. Jason tries to heat his pizza in an oven and for some reason, shocks himself severely. Then he covers the salad with olive oil and cottage cheese (bleh!). Well, he makes a big mess and while he's enjoying it, the oven shocks itself and ignites the olive oil. This for some reason, his back caught on fire. I pour more olive oil (the only liquid around) on him and the flames get bigger. I run over and tell my old Social Studies teacher Ms. K. D. House (who in my dream is called Ms. Balk) that Jason just inexplicably burst into flames. Jason looks at me with a disgusted look, as if the whole thing was my fault! Well he was never really my friend. Then as soon as I got that look, I woke up. This dream is not really as much weird as it was vivid. But it was weird in a way. I mean WHAT DID THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING!? If you actually read through the whole thing, then I thank you.
